Just having a look at the UEFA groups http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014_FIFA_W...ion_(UEFA) and Group E has to be one of the most open groups I have ever seen. Albania, Iceland, Switzerland, Cyprus, Norway, and Slovenia.

Although it is just after one match played it is great to see Armenia above Italy in group B.

Hopefully Poland can win as comfortably against Moldova as England did.

Canada has a hard away trip to Panama but if they pick up the 3 points they are pretty much guaranteed a spot in the next round. Hopefully, the referee is not too dodgy tonight.

Imagine the strength of the US National Team if the state of Georgia would manage to lose only by a single goal against the best team ever. Mrgreen

Georgia is probably bigger than a lot of the European countries! I once went to Six Flags over Georgia theme park, on the awesome Batman Returns Ride (think Nemesis at AT but 5 times bigger/faster/higher/better) and farted in the part of the queue that was indoors. It was an SBD so nobody knew where it came from, but in that humidity and heat, they all knew where it had reached Mrgreen

I must have confused them even more when they saw them waving the English flag with lots of little baby crosses in the corners. Shrug

So let me get this straight... you're saying that your fart covered the state of Georgia? Impressive Twitch

It was a good one, but ALL of Georgia? Can't say for sure!

Saw the first half of the Russia - Portugal match. Looked like a great move my the Russians to catch out the Portugal defence, but I would have to see a few more replays before I can figure out just what Pepe and the rest were doing. Still 1-0 in the 88th.

Edit: FT Russia 1-0 Portugal

9pts from 3 games for the Russkies.

Just saw some of the highlights DomD and I agree, two passes and the defence is split like a hot knife through butter..

Russia had a few chances of their own from a lot of Portuguese dominance from what I saw in the highlights.(I didn't see the stats yet, so apologies if that isn't accurate)

Capello's doing a good job.. looks like he's learning from some of the mistakes he's made although apparently he chose a player who is striking at his club as his captain though Mrgreen

England showing just how much they lack creativity again.

How Michael Carrick keeps getting capped is beyond me, especially in games like this. He's fucking shite and I wouldn't want him near the current Villa team.

So England score 2 goals in 2 minutes twice, and Rooney denied a chance at his hat trick.

can imagine the 1 that the Ireland scored is not a consolation goal but rather a goal of pity from their German opponents Giggle

I saw an article or two on the Guardian website saying that the Germans were in crisis.... so how many goals would they score if everything was rosy?

It's going to be a struggle for England tonight. Not sure if we'll come away from Poland with any points...
