As I've been a bit slack on getting this started this year, we'll have 3 deadlines for the first week. If you want to choose either Liverpool or Norwich please have your selection in before kick off (20:00 BST) in that game on Friday 9th August 2019. Otherwise have your selection in before 12:30 BST on Saturday 10th August to choose a team for that day, or before 14:00 BST on Sunday 11th August 2019 to choose a team from that day. We'll go back to normal from gameweek 2.

The rules are pretty much the same as last year, but this year we won't have lives to lose and we will play 2 mini seasons. I have decided to keep the Random Generator selecting games if a player misses a week, as this keeps things a bit more interesting than just losing a team and a chance at getting a win or draw.

The positions will be decided using the following order:
Number of wins
Number of draws
Goal difference
Goals for

If there is a tie after all of these, then the trophy will be shared.

Gameweek 1
Friday 9th August 2019
Liverpool v Norwich
Saturday 10th August 2019
West Ham United v Manchester City
AFC Bournemouth v Sheffield United
Burnley v Southampton
Crystal Palace v Everton
Watford v Brighton & Hove Albion
Tottenham Hotspur v Aston Villa
Sunday 11th August 2019
Leicester City v Wolverhampton Wanderers
Newcastle United v Arsenal
Manchester United v Chelsea

Anyone is welcome to join in, just post a selection to get started. Don't worry if you do miss the first week, I'll use the random generator after the event to select a team for you so you still have a chance at getting a win!

Good luck to everyone who plays.

Every game week (or playing round), you pick a team you haven't picked before. The more winners you pick, the more points you get. But that means eventually you'll have to pick the bottom teams as well.

Because everyone plays everyone twice, we reset halfway though, and start from the top again.

So, pick a team you think might win, but remember that you can't pick them again for the next half a year!

An interesting first week of the season saw just 2 winners picked by our group. Unsurprisingly deanashtonsfoot was one of them, although for a long time it did look like my beloved Villa were going to get something from the game!

A reminder that if you want to join in the game but missed the first week, make a selection for week 2 and I will use the random generator to get you a selection for the first week.

Since we have to pick them all eventually (as we don't get the boot when we pick a loser anymore), may as well pick them when seems reasonable enough.
