Mrgreen

Is it worth a listen? can't say I've heard of them (though you could say that for most of the bands/artists mentioned in this thread in my case...)

I would have to say yes. It's heavy (ish) so if you're only into seal and Barbara Streisand then I would suggest leaving it alone. I'm enjoying it though

I never quite know what to say when it comes to Mew videos (made by Jonas Bjerre and not the record label that is). It's usually just an experience that is incredibly hard to describe afterwards, just like their concerts.

Meghan Trainor. I feel like I'm getting AIDS every time I hear one of her songs. Jesus wept, how the fuck has she made it so big?!

New Order's new album Music Complete is surprisingly good. I highly recommend a listen: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL...ipKrfUY1rt

Meanwhile, I'll be seeing Iron Maiden in May when they come to Australia because hey, Iron Maiden and I got it for only 60 bucks.

Sorry in advance for this Lee. I love The Stone Roses, but this is really poor.

It's lyrically abysmal. The production makes Second Coming sound like a masterpiece. It wouldn't have even made it as a b-side in their late-80s heyday.

It's the sound of old men trying to recapture their youth. And failing.

Had a fantastic weekend in London: Friday was spent at the O2 watching Earth Wind & Fire blow the stage up ably supported by Tony Momrelle then on Saturday witnessed the legend that is Gladys Knight at the Albert Hall. Terrific vocal performance, still got the pipes at 71!

One of my recent indulgent purchases recently was the Complete RCA and T Neck recordings of The Isley Brothers. Now everyone (of a certain age Wink ) is aware of their run of international hits as a sixpiece - Summer Breeze, Harvest For The World, Between The Sheets etc. and some may know the Motown hits with just the three elder brothers but there is a helluva a lot of stuff on this 21 album collection most of which I have never seen or heard of before and the quality of the music, songs, vocal and production is absolutely amazing.

You younger guys may have heard Ronald Isley on later R Kelly albums and this guy has one of the best if not THE best male voice in black music history

PS They recorded the original version of Shout.

I'm seeing The Cure tonight at Perth Arena. Pretty much my favourite band of all time and the second time I've seen them live in WA. Absolutely pumped!

Going to see Ocean Colour Scene in September in Caerphilly Castle! Can't wait! My mum is looking after the kids and I've got a B&B so I'm all set.
